Dr. Brian O'Leary grew up in the Columbia area, attended District Five schools and graduated from Irmo high school in 1987. He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. He then enrolled in Dental School at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston. He received the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from MUSC in 1997. Choosing to specialize in orthodontics, Dr. O'Leary completed a three-year residency at West Virginia University, where he received a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. He maintains a state-of-the art orthodontic practice in the Dutch Fork area of Irmo, SC.Dr. O'Leary is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists, a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Andrew's society of Orthodontists. He attends professional meetings and scientific seminars on a regular basis, in order to provide the most current techniques and optimal care for his patients. He enjoys helping with the local Children's dental clinics in addition to his private practice. Brian, his wife Kimberly, and daughters Lilly-Margaret and Eleanor live in the Dutch fork area and are actively involved in local school and community events. Dr. O'Leary's recreational interests include music, cycling, running and golf. He has a regular group of cyclists that leaves from his office every Saturday. He completed the San Francisco marathon as a part of the Team in Training, which benefits the Leukemia Society and he participates in many Triathlons. He has performed as a professional musician (as a member of the Saluda River Band) in many different settings, specializing in acoustic guitar and vocals.
